Sweater to Teddy Bear

Image
Well this was a fun project. I love to recreate as most of you already know. LOL I have been doing a lot of aprons and purses lately. I wanted to try something different. I thought I would try and make a teddy bear out of an old sweater. It turned out so cute and it was actually very easy. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Shirt to Purse

Image
I took the shirt (pictured) and made this purse from the Clover-Trace'n Create bag pattern sold by Nancy's Notions. Having the template that you get with the pattern makes making these purses so fast and easy. Now days with very little time to do the fun things we love to do this is a REAL plus!!

Dress with Jacket to two Aprons

Image
I wish I had pictures of the dress with jacket outfit before I made the aprons. I made two aprons from the dress and jacket, used half of a tea towel for the large front hand pocket and the other half I attached to the ribbon belt ties for drying hands. The top pocket on one apron was made from the embellished jacket. The dress was beautifully embellished at the hem line and the jacket had the same embellishments on the hem line too. I tried to make them similar yet different. I like to make one-of-a-kind. Let me know what you think!

Another one for the Crock-Pot

Broccoli and Beef Pasta 10 oz frozen broccoli 1 onion, thinly sliced 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp dried thyme 1 Can (14 oz) Italian-style tomates, drained - I actually used 1 Can of Rotel 3/4 C beef broth 1 pd lean ground beef 2 garlic cloves, minced 2 Cups cooked rotini pasta 3/4 Cups (3 oz) shredded Cheddar cheese or grated Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons tomato paste Layer broccoli, onion, basil, oregano, thyme, tomatoes with juice and broth in Crock-pot, cover, cook on low 2 1/2 hours. I actually browned the ground beef with garlic the night before so it was ready in the morning. The reciped says to put ground beef in 2 hours before you're ready to eat but I put the beef in with the first step and let it simmer all day. I added the cook pasta about 30 minutes before we were ready to eat. I added the cheese on top when serving. Wow, it was yummy! I also put the mix in the bread maker timed everything to be ready at the same time. It was a great recipe. You sho...

One Shirt to Three purses

Image
I can't believe I got three purses out of this top. I have been busy sewing all day and I can keep going! It's fun to do something you love. It's recreating for me that is so fun. I think I'll use the big purse not sure it's me but I'll give it a try!

Finally done...

Wow, I finally got two apron give-aways and one apron for my helper Mari P. I have been sewing all day and loving ever minute!! I'm so glad that I got them done because I have to take two of my machines in for servicing this week. I don't know what I'm going to do with out them. I have others but these two are my favorite. Two full length aprons and the one at the bottom is a half apron.

Jacket to Apron

Image
Yesterday I made an apron from a dress. Well today I made an apron from the jacket that went with the dress. I made two aprons for the 4th of July celebration Chili cook-off and Pie bake-off winners. This one turned out so cute I thought I would keep this one for myself so I can wear on the 4th of July. So now I have to make another apron for the 4th. Time is running out!! LOL I used the front of the jacket for the top of the apron and the back of the jacket became the bottom. I used a decorative USA flag cotton fabric for the ties. Please let me know that you think. Thanks!
