I have designed a new pattern.  You can either purchase new zipper or us old zippers.  It's really FUN and FAST! Supply list 1 – 5” metal,  molded tooth or coil zipper* (zipper size is left up to you the designer – for example: large #8 get more noticed and are more masculine, smaller #5 are dainty so it’s up to you)!  *You can also use the smaller coil zipper and cut to 6” length ¼” yard of nylon webbing or cotton webbing* *when using cotton webbing there is more work to finish the raw edge so keep that in mind 2 – 1” “D” rings to match FUN ZIPPER BRACELET  APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR PROJECT DESIGNED BY Lorraine Giannetto-Glach www.lorrainesthis2that.blogspot.com Pattern #130 A simple yet fun project to make.  Maybe you have a sentimental outfit that is either worn out or out of style – take the zippers out and have some FUN! When it's time to retire a sweater the best way is to recycle or repurpose it. The best part when repurposing is that you take something old and make it new. You become a designer! The sweater usually dictates what type of purse I can make. I generally take the sleeves and make them into leg warmers. I wanted to make smaller leg warmers so I used a pair of socks for a young girl as my pattern be sure to add 1/2" seam allowance. Make them as long as you want. I added a knit ribbing cuff to both ends, finished 1". The purse shape and design depends on the sweater. This particular sweater was a button cardigan and I wanted to utilize the buttons for the purse closure. I buttoned the sweater and folded it so that the button flap was at about 2" from the top fold. I cut a semi-circle. Finish off the raw edge with a 1" or thicker grosgrain ribbon. This ribbon has a white pasley print on it and I thought it would work. Measure around your curved portion and add to that...

A wine bottle sweater made out of old sweaters. Just another cool way to recycle. My question is would you pay $5 for one? Is is practical, functional or just cute. I think it's a little bit of all three I just want to hear what you have to say!!

This is an awesome idea! T-shirts make the best pillow case because they are so soft and usually 100% cotton. It's a neat way to use a t-shirt that your child might have outgrown or if it gets paint on it yet you hate to throw it away. This is a fast an easy project for any sewing level! The Swallows Charter Academy each year (since I can remember) has had a Chili Cook-off and the last several I have made the aprons for the winner of green and red chili. I usually do a chili pepper apron but this year I wanted to do something different. Each year they do this around Halloween so I thought I would put a different spin on the aprons. I hope that the coordinator Kelli Archuleta likes them. I thought they turned out cute. I will have to see what she says. Let me know your thoughts. The first apron shown is a child's apron I'm going to sell.

I took a pair of black jeans that my mom's friend Carolyn gave me to recreate with. Congratulations to Carolyn for losing a ton of weight and getting rid of all those big clothes. I made two purses, I cut out a bear pattern and I still have another section to make another purse. Wow, I think I used almost every inch of this pair of jeans. I also used old ties to embellish with and use for the shoulder straps. What do you think?

This was scrap pieces left over from a previous purse I made. I just can't bare to throw anything out. I need help. LOL I figure I could have a worse habit, right? I just don't want to fill the landfill any more than necessary, why when it can be restyled. You can check out my previous blog that shows the other purse I made from the same skirt.

This one was fun. A lot of times I like to play around with an article of clothing to see what it wants to be. LOL I'm serious though!! LOL Well this wanted to be a purse. I wish I had taken the before picture.

Here we go again! When I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll!! LOL This sweater has character so I thought it would make a cute purse.

Okay so I can't seem to figure out what people like more aprons or purses or totes or ... So I thought I would make a little bit different shoulder bag. I'm not certain I like this one. It does seem to grow on me but I don't think I would personally use it. Maybe for a young girl. What do you think?

This cute little white Canyon River Blues tank top got paint on it but as you probably already figured out I have a terrible time throwing things out, why will be another post. LOL Well I made it into a grocery bag. I made two roses from the bottom of the tank that I cut off. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
